If you have not done so already look at the above link - it highlights the ongoing concern of destitution and how it is affecting people.
Awareness raising is needed around issues of destitution; it is a contentious issue and one that can divide people and encourage heated debate. I think we need to ensure people have access to the information so they can form their own views rather than simply believing what they hear in the media.
For me the affects of destitution are huge on an individual's sense of self worth, mental and physical health. For me it is not about whether someone should or should not be here in the UK but about treating everyone like human beings.


I am so glad I don't smoke! Dehydration and restricted independence are what worry me. It'll be interesting to see if it's as difficult as I think. Weather is supposed to be cold-ish (15 degrees) and rainy. Mmmm....
