I got involved with the cycling project because I love cycling and am very interested in working with refugees and asylum seekers. I thought after so many years of cycling that I must have picked up a bit about bike mechanics, but having started the project I have realized that in fact I know very little and have always conveniently managed to get other people to help me with bike maintenance! So it has been a huge learning experience for me to see how to fix bikes and transform them from almost falling apart to shining and a pleasure to ride. All of the clients are really enthusiastic and it has been great working with everyone and getting to know them all. I am very excited about getting out on the open road with them all and their shiny new bikes!
